Taste of Ireland

A Taste of Ireland event formed when the Knights were having a planning meeting for their annual Superbowl Tailgate Party at Sheridan's. Some inquiries were made and before we knew it the event was in progress. A fun time was had for all at the event, which featured Irish food and music and dance.

A native of Rochester, Selene Bissanti started dancing when she was seven and studied all styles of dance: jazz, tap, lyrical, ballet, pointe, acrobatics and contemporary. Her passion from the start has always been the Irish style. Selene has been dancing with the Young School of Irish Dance almost ten years and couldn't imagine her life without jigs, hornpipes and treble reels!

The Dunleavy School

The mission of the Dunleavy school is to teach Irish dance to children of all ages in a positive environment. We aim to develop strong dancers, teach teamwork and foster friendships among our students. We teach Irish dance as a tradition, a sport and an art form, and encourage our dancers to pursue these aspects through classes, performances or competitions. Most importantly, our goal is that students will gain confidence, be inspired and have fun!

The Sunday Session

Every Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. ‘til 7 p.m. individual musicians who love to play Irish music –folk or otherwise— gather at Sheridan’s Irish Pub, 551 Mt. Hope Ave., to jamb. It’s some of what makes Sheridan’s a true Irish pub!
